bulletSponsor and administer the Virginia Certified Horticulturist Program.
bulletSponsor of the Standardized Landscape Specifications for the Commonwealth of Virginia, along with the Virginia Society of Landscape Designers and the Virginia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is now specified in the Code of Virginia.
bulletSupport research at Virginia Tech and Hampton Roads Agricultural Research & Extension Center with interest from a Permanent Trust fund of over $460,000, in additional to annual grants.
bulletProvides two  Horticulture students at Virginia Tech $1,500 scholarships.
bulletProvides scholarships from the Shoosmith Endowment. (2 @ $1,500 and 2 @ $750)

bulletCo-founder and one of three Owners of the Mid-Atlantic Nurserymen's Trade Show (M.A.N.T.S.) held in Baltimore in January. The annual membership meeting is held at the Winter MANTS
